Stand by me, my heart is naive and new to love.

Go slowly, this is the first promise we [my heart and I] have made.

Ramadan Mubarak! Finally here! Went to TC today for the first time since May? It's BEAUTIFUL! Simply stunning... and the classrooms are... well... let's just say I can't wait for school to start again just because I'm a teacher. XD

Baby! Baby was born a little premature. About 2 weeks... maybe a little less. When you're in your mother's womb, the last thing to develop are your lungs. Every day of growth makes a massive difference. When born premature, they keep you in an incubator in a sterile environment the same temperature as the womb. You develop on your own, just like in the womb. So right now his lungs are developing while he hangs out with the other babies in the nursery.

XD The nurses can't say his name right... they call him "Mufasa" with dead serious expressions... I think they really believe that's his name. XD Reminds me of this favorite part of mine from The Lion King.

It's the time we waste; swallowed into space...

Finally! As you all know I am a full-blown A Fine Frenzy fanatic and her new music video is finally out! I adore it! It's the perfect mix of child-like innocence and teenage-like hunger for the unknown. And the special effects are corny enough to put a smile on your face. :D

Blow Away

In other notes; not going to the camp, but that's okay. I still have STP to look forward to in November. Driving alllll the way to Canton tomorrow and might be going to Cedar Point on the 20th with Sumi and her friends. :D Now I'm off to sleep with my chemistry book! :D [School, I have a sudden desire for it again. I love learning but I hate my school. Darn.]

End of Summer Depression

Y'know how senioritis is a disease? Well so is end-of-summer depression. And I've been hit...

I went to my sister's house yesterday for five-ish hours. Hung out, watched food chanel and took a nap. Then I came home and read a book about a girl who's a senior in highschool and her sister is exactly ten years older than her. I started crying like a baby, because it was exactly my story... I mean we don't have a drunkard mother or other problems, but we've had out fair share. It was ten o'clock at night and I was about to call my sister and tell her I missed her while bawling over the phone. Then I realized she would just call me stupid and hang up. Typical sister stuff. :)

Anyways, I've been crying/depressed a lot. I upset my mother yesterday by throwing a hissy fit over my brother being an ass. Even though he hasn't been one in a few days. Then she ditched me this morning for class because she didn't want me bawling in front of all her students. Ouch.

I'm thinking about going to AOF camp for a few days. September 4-7th. Right before school starts, and on my birthday. But I need to get on my mother's good side before I ask her... *runs to go vaccuum*

My New Project

So I made a little online writing journal... it's for my not-so-serious but fun writing! Just to exercise my muse! Please check it out and let me know what you think!:D

Growing Apart

Today's is F's grad party... we've known each other since -- quite literally-- we've been in the womb. We've been friends for much too long for anyone to remember, except us. We feature in each other's home videos, and are able to finish each other's sentences.

I'm not going.

I can't be with her anymore. It's too much. We've grown apart drastically. She's going downhill and I don't want to go with her. It's terrible seeing her like this, and I've tried to help her, but she refuses any help. And I'm sick of supporting her like a drunkard. She was never appreciative anyways. It may seem selfish but I'm ready to move on with my life.

A New Inspiration

Just hit me the other night in a dream... it's really whacked-out but I might turn it into a little something... :D Can't wait to get writing.

Wish me luck! I might create a new blog or LJ just to post this story on... ;)

Review of Madapple

It is extremely rare of me to enjoy a book so much that I feel the need to share it with the world in the form of a review. [Click picture for larger view]

Title: Madapple
Author: Christina Meldrum
My rating: 5 stars
------------
"-Please state your name for the record.
-Aslaug. [eye-lah]
-And your last name?
-I don't know.
-You don't know your last name?
-Mother called me Aslaug Datter.
-So your last name is Datter?
-No. I mean, I don't know. Datter means "daughter" in Danish. I'm not sure it's my name."

Aslaug is on trial for murder. She was raised in powerful isolation by her mother until the age of 15, when certain circumstances cast a bad light on her and thrust her from her fenced-off world into ours. Does she control her own fate, or do other people? Or does some divine being guide her without her knowing?

So we follow Aslaug's journey from Datter to Aslaug to suspected murderer. The story is dynamic, and flows from generation to the next. The plot-line is not linear for the first half of the book or so, and it may seem annoying at first but later it is recognized as needed. The metaphors are rich and deep, the plot unwinds as it should, but not without it's surprises. There are some things unanswered, but better left so.

Madapple is slippery, slick, dynamic. It takes the reader into Aslaug's world as she questions relationships, human beings, miracles and divine intervention. Also, as she unravels her world in first person, the book switches between each chapter to third person covering Aslaug's trial. The book wrenches emotion from you, whether you are willing to give it up or not.

What are we as human beings? What defines us? Our physical being or our minds, imaginations? Is there an answer to this? Does every question have an answer, even if we don't know it? Nothing is as it seems on the outside, what is perceived is only a fraction of the truth. Do we see what is the truth, or what we want to see?

Aslaug is not your average girl, but again, what defines average? Find out the answers by reading Madapple!

"Some things stay together because they fit, Aslaug Datter. Not because they're forced."

Hm... I think this was by far my favorite read of the summer so far. :) I must re-read this soon! :D Plus, the author got her bachelors degree at the college I plan on attending next fall! How much cooler can a book get? XD
