Wings of Happiness

Let me recount my holiday weekend for you:

Friday 6:30 pm -- Arrive for fund raising dinner at the TC, help out etc. Eat dinner and hang out until taraweeh.
Friday 10:30 pm -- pray taraweeh and socialize with N sisters + MZ.
Saturday 12:15 am -- plan an impromptu henna party at the N sisters' house.
Saturday 12:45 am -- henna party switches over to henna sleepover
Saturday 3:25 am -- decide it's too late to sleep as we have to get up at 5 o clock anyways, make decision to stay up all night.
Saturday 3:30 am to 6:00 am -- realize we're delirious from lack of sleep, still apply henna and act like fools, share secrets, laugh, cry, and sing. Eat, pray and off to bed.
Saturday 12:30 pm -- finally all wake up and begin heading to our humble abodes.
Saturday 1:30 pm -- Naj shows me her new obsession, plus the song "Wings of Happiness", apply some more henna
Saturday 2:00 pm -- get home and begin cleaning house, packing presents and showering. General preparation for Sunday.
Sunday 8:00 am -- wake up and get dressed, drive to masjid and pray then hang out with everyone. Pass out a few gifts.
Sunday 12:30 pm -- get home and spend time with the baby, then head out again to parties and such.
Sunday 5:00 pm -- get home from parties and nap, mentally prepare for homework.
Sunday night -- Freak out about homework and get close to none done. :)

My weekend was heavenly until the last hour or so... how about yours?!

I might go visit Torres this weekend! :D

"Even though they only scored ONE goal!"

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I oddly feel better even though I got no cake or e-card, and I'm still being repeatedly stabbed in my own induced hell called 'AP Physics and AP Chemistry homework'. I'm getting a cake tomorrow. My favorite kind; Chocolate Chipper from Coldstone Creamery. :D :D

Thought I'd lay out some life goals:
-- Pray! Get back in the game before Ramadan ends, at least before STP!!!
-- Memorize Ghamdi's style of recitation. I found the perfect hafiz! His style is so flowery and deep and intense. ALMOST feminine, without being so. Just what I was looking for!
-- Pass school. I mean really, I need this more than anything else. Here's my order of importance:
  1. AP Physics
  2. AP Chemistry
  3. AP Calculus
  4. AP English
  5. AP Spanish
  6. World History
  7. Photography
And by passing I mean ALL A'S! I'm going to get intense this year and if I fail in anything [B+ or lower] I will cry. Literally.
-- STOP daydreaming about STP! It's in November so I'm obviously getting too excited too fast!
-- Plan a date with Randi for my photoshoot! So excited! She's not the best photographer around, and she's not as good as me, but she's my friend and I adore her! Her enthusiasm really gets me pumped too! PLUS she's doing it for free! What a sweetheart!

Alright, now for some writing goals:

  • Finish Darkened Ivy before STP! And have it beta'd as well!
  • Completely outline [I have problems with this... serious problems] the first book of my trilogy Alnair by Christmas break.
  • World-building. Get on it. I plan on taking my world-building questions to physics and chem class and see what inspiration is sparked there. :D
  • Outline NaNo project by Halloween! [Already halfway done with this one!]
  • NaNoWriMo Participant 2009! Yay! My first year! I found some fabulous people in F. Hills that do at least 4 Write-ins every NaNo! [I lived in that city for 15 years and AFTER moving I notice that there's actually someone there who likes writing? Not just someone, but a whole lot!]
  • For NaNo--> Write Fool's Bride and finish completely.
  • After NaNo: Send Fool's Bride off to be beta'd. I'm looking for a beta, so if anyone wants to step up please let me know! :D
That's all for now I guess. *looks up* Holy cow that's a lot! Did I mention I just had a nephew and he's living with us? XD *dies* I'm definitely going to be thriving on caffeine this year.

*whistles*

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday dear Hadha,
Happy birthday to me.

:( Why am I so utterly depressed on my birthday? Oh wait... is it because I'm 17 and ALMOST legal... just not quite yet? Or is it because I'm stuck doing the dishes, chemistry homework and physics homework on my birthday? Or is it because it's labor day, and everyone has the day off and they're all gone celebrating everything but my birthday?

Oh well. School starts in two days. I think I'll manipulate someone into giving me some physics answers before then. Just cause it's my birthday.

1,2,3... A,B,C!

Ha! Grabbed this from Jenna who grabbed it from Rhonda. :)

Available or single? -- Isn't this the same thing? *is confused* Well, anywho, I'm taken. Sorry!

Best Friend? -- Older sister. :) She completes me.

Cake or Pie? -- Toughie... since I'm not much for sweets, but cake it is!

Drink of choice? -- Pani! [water!] Or Arnold Palmer! :)

Essential item for every day use? -- The bathroom. Duh.

Favorite color? -- Grey! :D And then red.

Google? -- Not chrome right? I use everything but the chrome. GMAIL IS FREAKING HEAVEN! :D

Hometown? -- Lahore. :D One of the three legendary cities of the Mughal Empire *rubs in your face*

Indulgences? -- Anime and Korean Dramas *LOL*

January or February? -- January! :D

Kids and their names? -- In the future, at LEAST four. Willing to adopt... and Jalal for a boy and Marwa for a girl. :D

Life is incomplete without...? -- Belief. In something, in anything. Not necessarily religion or god. Belief gives birth to hope with induces joy.

Marriage date? -- In the next 5 years buddy, you can count on it! :D

Number of siblings? -- One brother, one sister. Both are married so all in all 4 siblings.

Oranges or apples? -- Clementines.

Phobias and fears? -- Dieing while owing debt, being a freaking educational failure, never being good enough at one thing to advance, coming off as a bitch, lack of introspective personality.

X-rays you’ve had? -- My stomach when I was 5. I swallowed a penny and Abe Lincoln mocked me from my X-ray photos after.

Your fave food? -- Pretty much anything brown [except nihari! ugh!] and Arabic. And Japanese. And Mongolian. :D

Zodiac sign? -- Virgo! :D Wouldn't it be ironic if I wasn't a virgin?

I watched the first CCS movie the other day... HEAVEN PRETTY MUCH! It was sooo sad cause the evil lady wasn't evil... she was just sad that the one guy [Clow] she loved left her... AND he was homosexual. With Yue. And evil lady didn't know that either. I adore Yue, even though he's gay. I'm a little shameless and I always stick him with Toya anyways. PLUS I never saw Clow having a need to be gay. I mean it just doesn't add to the plot line. Sure, Yue being gay fits because Yukito [Yue's alter ego] is gay too and that's fine. But I'd rather Clow NOT be gay... for a few reasons:

1) Doesn't advance plot line. There is no freaking need for him to be gay.
2) Makes no sense. I mean c'mon! Clow is so sexy! He couldn't find someone to sleep with so he created a homosexual [gorgeous] guy with wings to have a relationship with? Chyea, not believable.
3) I'm sick and tired of falling for all the gay guys... WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?! [I don't have problems with them being gay, it's just that I can't daydream the same because I'm like "Oh, that's not realistic because he's GAY. Never gonna happen!" *shuts off daydream sequence*]

XD Oh well. Even if they're all gay... they're still nice to look at. XD

穏やかな夜に、私はこの一曲だけを歌う

So over at the forums we've decided [a while ago] to have a friendly NaNo competition. :D And... *drumroll* I've decided to join in!

Cue: faint!

I know, I know! I'll fail miserably! But this is probably the one chance I'll get to write out this story that's been bugging me for months. It's not something I'm proud of either. *shudders* It's romance... Here's a little blurb:

Avelina Georgess is a show-stopping city girl who has her perfect dream wedding planned out. Apple green dresses for her bridesmaids, three tiered cake by the best bakery in New York, and of course, the rich, handsome and employed fiance. All that's left is the perfect wedding dress, and where else to get to get the perfect dress than to have it hand made by a private tailor? So Avelina heads back to her small hometown to have her dress made by the local tailor. But there she finds so much more awaiting her. A spoiled childhood love tears out of her past and comes fluttering into the present, leaving Avelina wondering what really defines true love. Saturated with heartache, redemption and tears, author Hadhafang weaves the story of two lovers who were never really star-crossed.

*cough* In other notes: here's something to keep you laughing for a while. From one of my favorite comedians.
